Well, hello, Super Great Kids. I do hope you had a happy Christmas day if you

were celebrating and some good family time for all you story lovers. I hope you had time for a

couple of stories in the middle of all the cooking, the present giving, the singing and the game playing.

Now, as you may know, our theme is fairy tales around the world.

And this week, we're going to hear from Despina Aru, who is from Greece, a country in Europe

where lots of really good stories began.

Despina lives on a Greek island and she's going to share with us a Christmas story that her

granny used to tell her when she was a little girl. It's about some nasty little troll-like

creatures who come out at night from their underground home

at Christmas time to steal food and sometimes to steal people and even children.

One of the reasons that people in Greece say that the trolls come above ground at Christmas

is because they smell

the delicious Christmas biscuits being baked.

So, just before we meet Destina, can you think of your favourite Christmas Snicky snack?

People all over the world make special food for Christmas. In Germany they have Stollen a sort of fruit bread with marzipan.

And in Greece they have crunchy almond biscuits covered with white icing sugar called curabievus.
