Anthem of the Seas this week, but first covering a lot of cruise news. Staff writer Richard Sims.

Hey, Richard. Hey, Doug, fancy meeting you here. Yeah, we're kicking things off with what has to be the most unexpected news of the week.

Yeah, I did not see this one coming, but it looks as if Mexico has put the kibosh on Royal Caribbean's plans to open a second version of Perfect Day on that country's west coast.

So ever since Royal announced plans

for Perfect Day Mexico, there have been protests about, you know, various aspects, mostly involving

the environmental impact. There were two main concerns raised, one regarding some protected

mangrove forests and the other involving the reefs and how

dredging and doing the various things you have to do to open a spot like this would harm them.

Honestly, these kind of complaints are raised nearly every time a cruise line tries to create or

expand a private destination or do dredging.

We saw this when they were trying to open a second port down in Miami.

So it's not at all unusual to see these kind of things happen.
