Hamas has confirmed that leader Yahya Sanwar has been killed in combat with the Israeli military in Gaza.

Drone footage released by the Israeli military showed Sinwar in his last moment.

Hamas chose Sinwar as its new political leader in August. His predecessor Ismael Hania was killed in an assassination blamed on Israel.

You know that last week, Yahya Sinwar was announced as the new political chief at large of Hamas.

And that followed the assassination of Ismail Hania in a suspected Israeli attack in Iran on July 31st.
