Good morning. I'm Mendi Hassan in for my good friend Ali Valshue, who has a morning off well deserved.

It's Saturday, September the 18th, 255 days since the January 6th interaction and that attack on the United States Capitol.

And now there is another far-right rally taking place today at the Capitol.

This one in defense of those arrested for taking part

in that violent assault in January. It's dubbed Justice for J6, a ridiculously misleading title

created by a far-right group called Look Ahead America. And as you can imagine, some of the same

racist and anti-American far-right groups that took part the last time round are set to be there again today.

In a statement which reads like it was written by a Soviet Bond villain, the organizers say that the rally is designed to call out the, quote, tyrannical and inhumane treatment of the political prisoners who've been targeted by the Department of Justice

and the FBI, meaning those arrested for violently attempting to overthrow an election and

destroy American democracy, those who attacked police officers and who chanted that they

wanted to hang the former vice president. The new Capitol Police Chief Tom Manger, who was

tapped for that position less than two months ago,

says that there has been, quote, chatter about possible violence today, including between pro-insurrectionists and counter-protesters. The security fencing that was erected outside the
