Well, today, on Insight for Living, Chuck Swindall reminds us about the supernatural force

that guides the Christian who's walking with God.

This message comes from an 11-part teaching series

on the mystery of God's will.

In this fourth study, we'll examine a key attribute of God's nature,

one that can't be ignored. Chuck titled his message, Another Deep Mystery, God's Sovereignty.

My life was changed in the summer of 1961.

I was already a Christian. In fact, I was between my second

and third year in a graduate school in theological studies. My wife and I had been asked to join

a church in Northern California where we would be interns for that summer.

That is, another fellow and I would be interns.

And that young man, Gibmartin, lived with us during that three-month period of time.

It was a time, as you can imagine, when I was struggling with some real truths that were becoming

inescapable for me. When you're in graduate study and when you are doing intensive kind of work

in the biblical text, you have to come to terms with things. You can no longer leave them in the realm

of theory. You have to get off on one side or the

other. And a major battle of mine at the time was the sovereignty of God. It was a battle for me

practically because Cynthia and I were uncertain as to our future. She was carrying our first child.
