Good morning and welcome to the Independent Republic of Mike Graham right here on Talk Radio,

as the Conservative Party government's majority has now been halved to exactly

one vote, I'm afraid.

They said Boris Johnson would set new records as the Prime Minister,

and now he's done it.

He's lost a by-election after being in power for just 11 days, the shortest time for any PM in the history of elections ever.

Of course, using the Lib Dem's logic from the European elections in May, they didn't actually win the Breckin and Radlashire by-election at all.

Jane Dodd, the winning candidate, only got 43.46% of the vote. And if you add the Brexit

party to the Tory vote, it all adds up to 49.02%. So that means those parties that are for Brexit

and leaving the European Union actually got more votes, and so leave one. Isn't that right? Isn't

that the way you work it out? I think that's right. But first some serious questions. Why did the Brexit party run once they knew Remain parties were all dropping out in order to get behind the Lib Dems?

We'll be asking Brexit Party MEP Lance Foreman, that question. And why unearthed the

Tories allowed Chris Davis to run for the seat he had been recalled from because of an

expensive scandal? Surely if they'd put a better candidate in, they might well have won it. And what happens when Dr Philip Lee defects to Lib Dems after the summer?
