Hello and welcome to the Fighter Pilot Podcast. I am your host, Vincent Aiello, and unlike most weeks, it's just me on this special episode because I have an exciting announcement.

Today is April 1st, 2025, and after nearly five years of writing, I am happy to announce my memoir,

Through the Yellow Viser starts with my first air show at eight years old and features various

highlights throughout my youth to when in high school actually I decided to pursue becoming a fighter pilot.

As you'll learn in the story, I encountered obstacles and hurdles right from the get-go,

just trying to find my way into the military.

And then flight school, well, it started off great, but then I struggled in various phases of jet training.

Nearly all of Chapter 7 is devoted to my very first carrier qualification

as I tried to land a TA4J Skyhawk on USS Carl Vinson back in 1995.

And let me tell you, it was not easy or pretty.

Ultimately, though, this is a perseverance story as I prevail and eventually was assigned

the F.A.18 Hornet, which was a dream come true.
