Hello and welcome to another episode of the Mark Groves podcast. As many of you likely

know, but maybe some of you don't. I got a dog last April and this dog's name is Carl

and he's been absolutely incredible. He's been such an incredible teacher in so so many

ways and he's this splendid little soul and sometimes when I ask him to do something

which is more like a command, he looks at me and I think he was playing fetch with

him the other day and he gave me this look like, do you know how many times I've done this?

Do you know how many lifetimes I've had? And here you are thrown a ball for me. I think

he just kind of looks at me like he knows so much more. Sometimes I think that about animals

that we don't give them credit for the level of consciousness they actually might have.

Maybe they got it all figured out. What we hear as barking is actually a really complex

language. It's kind of funny to think about. But you know, in all this conversation about

relationship, I've observed within myself and within other people their relationship

with their animal and how I often see what we get frustrated about and even how we see
