Hey everybody and welcome to Movie Crush, a Friday interview edition. I'm sitting here with the wonderful Annie Reese fellow colleague, fellow podcaster. How you doing Annie?

2:17.0

I'm doing well. How are you doing, Chuck? I'm great. You guys know Annie from the slasher roundtable episodes. You educated us on the final girl. Yes.

2:28.0

Or at least me. Everyone else probably duh. Right. Did you continue? I thought about that later. Did you continue your watching of slasher movies? A little bit. I watched black Christmas after we recorded. Yeah. Which I loved. Yeah, it's great. It's intense. Yeah. It was a good one.

2:45.0

Yeah, and I think I said this on one of the other shows, the heavy breather call or whatever. Yeah. I got really pretty extreme. It really did. It was upsetting. I thought it was just going to be like, what are you doing? What are you wearing? It was like, it got really ugly. It did. It makes you feel unsettled, gross inside of us. Yeah. And especially for the time I thought, man, I'm surprised it kind of went that far. Right. Oh yeah. Yeah. I had that too.

3:14.0

Because I feel like our movies these days are more violent often. But seeing that, I had a moment of, wow. And then also, and you made the Christmas story.

3:24.0

Yeah. This is the same guy. Yeah. Interesting. Tensions around Christmas, I suppose. Yeah. That's a weird one to punch. Right. So Annie, first of all, we might as well go ahead and plug some stuff that you're in. Yeah. Right off the bat.

3:41.0

That you are co-host of Saber, yes, with Lauren here in the office. For people that don't know what Saber is all about, why don't you give them a little tour? A tour. Well, we talk about all things food and drink, science, history, culture. And sometimes we're fortunate enough to travel. Yeah. What are some of your cooler trips? We just did Hawaii. Yeah. Or in the middle of that mini series right now. Talk about spam.

4:08.0

We have talked about spam. But you know, the interesting thing about Hawaii is their cultural cuisine has such a footprint that a lot of the foods that you would think of when you think of Hawaii, we had already covered before we ever went to Hawaii.

4:20.0

Oh, really? So we'd already done spam and pineapple, my tie. Yeah. But there's plenty of things to talk about when it comes to Hawaii, like coffee, which was a huge. Yeah, ton of coffee. Yes.

4:31.0

Yes. So that was really fun. We've done Asheville and New Orleans, but also really cool. New Orleans is great. Like one of the cities that maybe more so than any other American city feels so uniquely its self. Yeah.

4:47.0

It's not like anywhere else. Right. It has a distinct presence. Yeah. And feels very European and sort of spooky. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Any movie or show set in Orleans automatically has this kind of vibe with it.

5:00.0

You feel it walking around. Yeah. It feels like a city of ghosts and I don't even believe in ghosts. I know I'm the same way. I take all these ghost tours. I'm like, I don't believe it. But I feel something.
