Hi, everybody. Welcome to Ann Orley's weekly weather.

Today is January 1st, 2017. We have officially rolled into a new year.

I'm broadcasting here from my bright red desk in Manhattan, and I'm an astrologer here in New York,

and what we do in the weekly weather is

we talk about the week ahead and how you can use the energy productively and really kind of

maximize your life. You know, it's kind of like knowing it's going to rain. If you know it's

going to rain, you bring an umbrella or you get wet. You know, you've got a choice obviously

about how you want to use the energy.

And, of course, because we're in a new year, a lot of people are making New Year's resolutions,

which is always great. And it's a really interesting chart. I decided, somebody said to me,

did I ever look at the chart for the new year? I mean, traditionally, astrologers look at the solstice chart, or they look at the ingress of the sun into Ares in March,

you know, when the sun crosses the equator.

And those tend to be the year charts.

And I said, no, I actually never have looked at the New Year's chart.

So I did this year.

I looked at midnight for the east coast of the United States, New York, because I consider us to be the beginning, because we have Times Square, at least for the

celebrations in the States, and cast a chart for that. And it was kind of an interesting

chart. So I'm going to look at that as part of the show today. And it is a two-page week, which means normal living,

not too crazy. We also have a lot of, a lot of energy with two planets changing signs this

week. We have Mercury in Sagittarius, going backwards. He's going retrograde, remember? And we

have Venus entering Pisces.
