My mum had to understudy me once for a two week run we did it and two week for an amateur group was quite a long time you know and I was Pinocchio and they got they said to my mum will you will you be Annabel's the study and my mom said oh yes well she obviously thinking she'd never have to go on and I got this terrible bow to

flu and my poor mother had to suddenly squeeze herself age 50 or something into my shorts and my faith also.

And she had no idea the script, she just kept shouting out,

Into the woods, to the woods!

And running off into the wings to get her lines.

But so I had been doing lots of that sort of stuff.

So I really could not tell you what I learned.

I just knew I love doing it.

I've got some news.

Go on.

I'll just come straight out with it.

I'm pregnant.

And it's there when I was at Birmingham doing a play,

that I was introduced to Sue Wilson who was part of the

radio drama team at Birmingham at Pebble Mill and she she said to me,

oh come in while you're doing this play in Birmingham,

come in and just bring loads of different pieces,

anything you want, any accident, just any monologues,

which was such a luxury, you never get to do that.

So I just went in and had a coffee with it and just sat there and just

read lots of extracts of plays and middle monologues in loads of different accents and two weeks

later she gave me my first afternoon play which Sunny Ormond was in who plays Lillian. She said she had to make him stop.
