Anna is the host of Death, Sex, and Money,

a show about the things that matter most in life, but that we talk about the least.

Class, race, love, grief, masculinity, student debt, parenthood, and of course, death, sex, and money.

Since the show began in May of 2014, Sale has built this career out of going there to those vulnerable places in conversation

where the truth resides.

Her seven years of hosting death sex and money has culminated in a new book called

Let's Talk About Hard Things.

Featuring passages from the show and beyond, it's part memoir, part self-help.

It includes stories from strangers and stars alike, conversations around family, identity, and more.

The point of these conversations, as Sale writes, is to see more clearly,

not to reduce the complexity of our relationships to a formula.

Sale writes, how do we start a conversation that we know will be difficult?

Where do we start? That's a question I ask myself every week on this

podcast, difficult or not. Where do we start?

The answer, at least for this talk with Anna, comes from author Anne Lamotte.
