Well, my story is quite idyllic. I was born in a very small village in the middle of the Valley of the Roses.

It's a secluded small valley between two mountains

where the rare form of rose grows.

It's called Rosa Damaskena and it's the most romantic one, the one that is used in the most sophisticated

perfumes. Well that sounds like you're making it up, it sounds too good to be true.

If you are there right now, you'll see fields of roses. It's the time when the harvest is done. So they

have filled of roses. Then they are blue fields. This is the lavender. And then fields with the walnut trees. So this is my valley.

Anna Bonavita grew up in a small village in Bulgaria. She studied physics and engineering. For

graduate school she went to St. Petersburg Russia where she got her PhD and

then she got a job at Carnegie Mellon University in Pennsylvania.

It was her first time in the United States. She didn't know anyone and so she

spent her evenings watching television.
