when I do WXXXI, I sometimes run around the office because like no one's in the office and I need

to like wake up because it's so early. Anyway,

this week, Marianne will be speaking with Faraz Harsini and buckle up because you're going to love

this interview. Farras is a scientist and works at the Good Food Institute and it's a thoroughly

lovely guy. But most of all, he will be talking with Marianne about Allied Scholars for Animal Protection,

which is a new organization he has founded and is a totally brilliant idea, by the way,

to build animal advocacy on campuses all over the country. I love hearing that that's a thing,

because sometimes I just feel like that kind of a track is gone.

And, you know, that's very narrow thinking on my part.

Why would, like, I'm not sure it's ever been there.

Well, animal advocacy, just in general, there's animal rights groups.

I've certainly back in the day spoken to many animal

rights groups at colleges, but I feel like that was a very 10 years ago kind of thing.

Well, it wasn't that it's 10 years ago. As you'll learn when you listen to this interview,

it's that it pops up on every campus when you have somebody with that drive and ambition and that just need

to do something. And then they graduate. And that's what's brilliant about this whole idea.

For Oz is brilliant. In the first place, the acronym for his organization, Allied Scholars for Animal

Protection, is ASAP.
