1:16.1

Righteous Babe. She released her own music through it, as well as work from Andrew Bird,

1:21.2

1:28.0

millions of records, hit a bunch of top 100 charts, won awards, and acclaim from critics. But maybe

1:33.3

more than any other singer, Anita Franco is defined by her independence. When we talked in 2017,

1:40.2

though, she'd just released an album that departed from that a bit. She collaborated with a big

diverse roster of artists, Justin Vernon from Bonivere, Maceo Parker, Gail and Dorsey Binary,

1:54.0

1:58.1

Play God.
