Maybe you're tuning in today because you're angry at a Calvinist. Well, my name's Layton Flowers. I'm the director of apologetics for Texas Baptist.

And many of you know that I've worked with a ministry called Sotriology 101, in which I have started a podcast and a blog that answers objections against the traditional perspective of sociology.

And I have brought argumentation against Calvinism. Now,

I was a Calvinist for a good decade of my life, part of a Reform Baptist Church, a minister in a reformed Baptist church, went through seminary as a Calvinist. And so I understand where

Calvinists are coming from.

I understand the interpretation.

I can see what they see when they read certain passages that sound Calvinistic.

And so I get where they've come from.

And because of that, I think I've been able to, hopefully I pray that I've been able to treat my Calvinistic brothers with respect.

I've got family members and great friends who are all Calvinist leaning.

I listen and read Calvinist regularly because I really agree with 90 to 95 to probably almost 99%

of what they teach.

I resonate with what John Piper says and preaches.

I love listening to Matt Chandler.

Louis Giglio was a good friend of my father growing up,

and I love hearing his teaching,

and I know he's Calvinistic leaning as well.

A lot of the people that we've brought to our events over the years

with Texas Baptist

have been Calvinistic and still are.

We've still got guys booking that are coming later in the year that are Calvinistic leaning.
