That time Firestone Boulevard was the way into Los Angeles, the three-lane highway.

And during the war, gas rationing and just very few cars on the road at night.

You can't, living here now you can't believe how it was then.

We were way out in the country near Buena Park. When the motor died on his car.

And so we pushed, popped the clutch and

anything else trying to get the thing going, pushed it for, oh I guess, four or five blocks,

and there was a little

gas station that was there, and so he said,

I think it's a coil, I mean, I think it's a condenser or something.

And he didn't know anything about mechanics.
