habitually performing small acts of kindness. I met Wes Wheeler at the Nika Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona, just last month.

He was the first person to greet me when I arrived, and then he was kind enough to walk me out

after the end of the meetings. As he ushered me into the lobby and into my car, Wes shared

how meaningful the message was and how profoundly impacted he was by it.

I asked what the main message he heard was, and Wes replied,

That's how I found myself listening as he explained about Charles and Dot and the day in 2019

that changed Wes's life forever.

On December 5th, 2019, West received the call he'd been dreading. His brother, Charles, terminally sick with cancer, had taken a turn for the worse. He didn't have much time left, and if Wes wanted to see him, he had to get to Jacksonville as soon as possible. West raced to the airport and learned the soon as he'd arrived would be just right before midnight that evening.

While booking the flight, he saw that a flight was currently boarding to the same destination, which would allow him to arrive up to four hours earlier.

Although last minute, and already sold out and already boarding, West explained to the boarding agent his plight.

She had family too, she shared, and she knew how important it would be to be present both in life and in death. Dot secured the seat for Wes
