Okay, so lots and lots of talk about Roma, about their

ultras and about the build-up to this game against Liverpool next week.

We wanted to get a bit more of an insight into

Roma into the ultra culture and into how people feel about that in Rome really and

for anyone that reads the Times they may well have seen a piece from Gabriel Marcotti this week at Times,

Columnus and also ESPN senior writer.

Gabriel, we thought we'd get you on the phone just to have a chat about that really.

I mean, lots of people

are making the trip for the first time from Liverpool to Rome there's you know there's a

younger generation of fans who you know won't remember sort of 1984 and

what happened then between Liverpool and Rome.

Could you tell us a little bit about this culture that exists around Rome as

ultras and how it's perceived in Rome as well really.

Yeah, so, and you know, I don't want to put this out there.

I'm not, I'm by no means an expert on on on on on ultra culture but I've have spoken to a ton of people

you know over the past over the past week I think I have a fairly good

fairly good handle on this and as I wrote in the Times fees

Roma's Ultras where I've been traditionally and has to do with the kind of

fan base that the club attracted they had traditionally been working class left leaning and sometimes far left leaning supporters.

That was certainly the case throughout the ball from the day the club was founded.

Lachio, the big rivals were far more alienated with the right, which in Rome embassy means the fascist right.
