Summary

When you look at the IEP method there’s 3 parts to it. The first thing is the ability to reboot your presence in the moment no matter what’s going on. This is something that’s happening all the time. Let’s just say one of us check out or I’ve got to regroup to think about your question and I find myself going in my head to find the answer, I still have to reboot, come back, and be fully present with you again. That part of is presence, being able to be present in the moment is happening over and over again. I find that the more you practice it, it’s like a muscle, the stronger it gets. The second part is the ability to create intentional impact which is a huge piece. The idea is that we’re always creating impact. If I go out on stage, our interaction here, if I’m working with a team, if I’m working with my kids, if I’m having a conversation with my partner, I’m always creating impact. And the impact is either going to move us forward move us forward be positive or it’s going to maybe move us back, and create little bit more of a mess, or be kind of beige and who wants beige? I’d rather be creating impact that’s joyful, life giving, and forward moving. – Anese Cavanaugh
