Thanks for having me. Happy to be here.

Yeah, it is my pleasure to have you. So I was actually introduced to you by way of your publicist who sent me a copy of your book, Reach, which was all about stepping out of your comfort zone.

And based on the fact that I read the book,

I really see you as a social scientist. So I think I want to start with one of my favorite questions for anybody who does social science research. And that is what social group were

you a part of in high school? And what impact has that ended up having on your life and your career?

That's an interesting one. Well, I went to a high school, which was a private high school in the Boston area, and I only had 50 kids in my class. So it's hard, like in terms of groups, it wasn't sort of your classic high school, at least how I've, you know, kind of watched teen high school movies it was very different

so I don't know I think most kids in my high school were fairly well-rounded we were all encouraged to

sing in the glee club even you know the captain of the football team was on the glee club I did all sorts

of activities I played some varsity sports I did a lot of different stuff.

So I'm not quite sure if I really would have fit into a group.

What did being in such a small environment high school-wise

teach you about human relationships and human behavior?

Well, it's interesting.
