Okay Mia, tell me your name and what you had for breakfast.

0:02.0

My name is Mia, and I had a combined breakfast and lunch, and it was a burrito.

0:08.0

Burrito for breakfast.

That's what I have to say it's a combined lunch.

On the Wind is presented by Weems and Plath, makers of fine nautical and weather instruments since 1928. And recently they introduced

0:21.9

the OGM nav lights. There are these LED nav lights. I've actually had one on East Bjorn as

0:27.9

its masthead lights since long before Williams and Plath took over production. But anyway,

0:32.3

recently they took over production of the OGM nav lights. They are super small, super energy efficient LEDs. And interestingly

0:39.9

enough, people tend to think that LEDs are cool. They actually do produce heat. And most LED

0:46.3

fixtures don't do anything to dissipate that heat. And therefore, the lights don't last as long

0:51.9

because if you overheat it, they're going to shorten the life.

1:00.0

So Williamson Plath has sort of ingeniously invented these housings that use different materials and have different heat sinks in there to get the heat away from the light bulb instead of keeping it in there,

1:05.8

and therefore increasing the length of the light in terms of the years that it's usable.

1:11.2

So for example, East Bjorn's Mastead light is a combination anchor light and tricolor. And when you turn both switches on at the same time, it turns into a strobe light, which is useful when you have a safety issue if you're trying to get someone's attention offshore. And also, it's got a light diode in it for the anchor light. anchored for a few days for a few days, you can leave the switch on and it automatically turns itself off when the sun comes up.

Mia, how does it, good does it feel to be outside in the cold?

1:45.8

It's beautiful today. Just beautiful. So this is our annual, I think it's been annual sort of recap of

1:52.9

the previous year and looking ahead to the new year that you and I like to do. We did it outside today.

2:00.8

There's a lot of exciting stuff that we

2:02.7

talk about coming up in 2022, but just to sort of summarize that and things that you guys that are
