| 0:50.0 | It's a story of one of the most dramatic cultural transformations of the last several centuries. |
| 0:56.0 | It starts with the top frame, which reproduces a diary entry from the British statesman William Wilberforce in 1787, |

| 1:09.6 | the suppression of the slave trade and the reformation of manners. |
| 1:14.0 | Webberforce wrote this as a young man, beginning his career in Parliament. |
| 1:17.5 | It took his entire life before the act for the abolition of the slave trade actually was passed. |

| 1:26.4 | It's a painting of a British naval ship pursuing a slave ship. |
| 1:30.9 | Guns blazing as this ship, which is part of what was called the preventive squadron of the Royal Navy, |

| 1:42.7 | Because after Parliament passed the act for the abolition of the slave trade, |
| 1:46.0 | it took 50 years to actually end the slave trade across the Atlantic. |
