Only one man in American history has served as the mayor of a city, a congressman, a senator,

the governor of a state, the vice president, and the president of the United States.

And I think it's fair to say that if any president lived the American dream, it was him.

You see, he was born

to a poor family. He had virtually no formal education. He came from truly humble beginnings,

and nothing in his background would suggest that one day he would become the president of the

United States, and yet he did. So this is a real rags to riches story.

Heck, this guy was even born in a log cabin,

which gave him that rugged frontiersman reputation,

something that Americans loved in their presidents back then.

Not only that, but this man was known as a man of the people.

He came from them, he identified with them,

and he consistently looked out for them. They saw him as a man of the people. He came from them. He identified with them and he consistently looked out for

them. They saw him as a man of courage and conviction and they elected him to office over and over

for decades. And if that wasn't enough, he was a family man. He fell in love and got married at the

age of 18 and remained married to his wife for almost 50 years.

So here's a guy with the quintessential American story.

If you could write the life story of a president, especially one in the 19th century,

it would probably look something like this.

And it might even make a pretty good movie,

like a combination of a Horatio Alger story mixed with a little bit of Mr. Smith goes to Washington.

And the funny thing is that Hollywood actually did make a movie about him.
