What is it about your coaching style, Bobby, that really lent itself to meshing with Vic Vanjale and his concepts?

First off, give credit to the players.

If I didn't have good players, we wouldn't be freaking anything.

And if I didn't have a good boss, we wouldn't be anything.

But I think Vic and I are kind of cut from the same cloth.

We're both technicians.

We both preach the fundamentals.

And we both preach just whipping a guy whether it's with your hands

whether that's slipping him whether that's with you know different tools we teach but we're both

got to you know he's definitely old school and I kind of got that old school bone in me too

what kind of an identity were you searching for in your linebacker room?

Well, I just try and teach the guys.

I tell them pretty early on.

There's several different ways to skin a cat.

There's these coaches that can get up on the grease board,

the chalkboard,

and pie equals MC squared times 20, blah, blah, blah, blah blah blah blah blah blah and design a blitz

it gets five guys home free or you got a guy that's going to teach you how to kick somebody's

ass kick somebody's butt how how do i actually whip a block and that's kind of where i fall

just giving the guys we got a toolbook you know have, have the hacksaw, have the frickin' pair of pliers.

Have about five tools in there.

That's kind of my school of coaching.
