This is episode 316, and in it I talk with Dr. Justin Sledge of the Esoterica YouTube

channel about the philosophy of ancient Greco-Roman astrology and the relationship between astrology

and some of the different philosophical and religious schools during that time period, basically

during the Hellenistic and Roman era.

So this was originally structured as an interview where Justin was interviewing me for his YouTube

channel based on my experience as the author of a book on ancient astrology titled Hellenistic

Astrology, The Study of Fate and Fortune.

But the discussion went so well that I've decided to release it as an episode of The Astrology

Podcast and my channel as well, and Justin's given me permission to do that.

So the focus of the discussion is talking about the relationship between astrology and

different philosophical and religious schools during the Hellenistic and Roman periods,

and during the course of the discussion we touched on Platonism, Aristotelianism, Stoicism,

Hermeticism, Nosticism, Christianity, Fate, Freewill, Determinism, different conceptualizations

of the mechanism underlying astrology, and a lot more.

It was a pretty sweeping discussion, and we just recorded it last night on August 17th,

2021 at approximately starting at 6.20pm in Denver, Colorado for those that want to know.

So with that little introduction out of the way, let's go ahead and jump right into the
