Hey, everybody, welcome to another episode of Purple Insider presented by Fanduil, Matthew Collar here, along with

Dane Mizatani of the Pioneer Press inside the Indiana Convention Center at the NFL Combine,

where we have just spent the last, I would say, hour plus speaking with acting general manager of the Minnesota Vikings,

Rob Brzezinski, along with head coach of the Minnesota Vikings, Kevin O'Connell.

And this was something that I'm going to be honest with you, Dane.

I've been looking forward to quite a bit to see what Kevin O'Connell and Rob Brzezinski would have to say about

the quarterback position, their roles, the approach to free agency and philosophy, the salary cap.

And guess what? We got answers to all of those things. And I'm going to throw out a little PSA

and then we'll get right into it, which is here at of those things i'm going to throw out a little psa and then we'll get

right into it which is here at the combine i'm going to give you the attendance in these meetings

and if you read anything that does not cite these places then they were not there that was

I think that that's the list, right?

So if it comes from anywhere else, then, you know, someone's either taking it or it wasn't actually said.

So let's fire away right with the quarterback position and what Kevin O'Connell and Rob

Brzezinski had to say. O'Connell talked with us a lot. In fact, he even went back to

2004 when he had made declarative statements about J.J. McCarthy being the franchise quarterback.

That's something, Dane, that you and I have actually talked quite a bit about at that point

and how they felt about J.J. McCarthy. And what O'Connell said was that McCarthy has shown all the

traits, and he did in the initial 2004 training camp, and that he did throughout this season,

all the traits of someone that they viewed as a franchise quarterback.
