In their TKR adj. Sunday, February 11, 2018, welcome back to the ION College Baths. Well,

0:17.7

podcast I got Matt Norlander here with me. And earlier today, the NCAA Tournament

0:21.4

Selection Committee unveiled its top 16 at this moment. If you didn't watch it on CBS,

0:26.6

shame on you because CBS is America's most watched network. It's the network of stars. But

0:31.4

don't worry, we got it recad for you. The one seeds were Virginia, Villanova, Zabier,

0:36.4

and Purdue. The two seeds were Auburn, Kansas, Duke, Cincinnati. The three seeds were Clemson,

0:42.9

Texas Tech, Michigan State, North Carolina. And the four seeds were Tennessee, Ohio State,

0:49.1

Arizona, and Oklahoma, Norlander, your thoughts on what the Selection Committee unveiled.

0:54.4

Well, there's a lot to get to here. Number of ways that we can go. Just pick one. Now,

1:02.1

I'm going to pick a whole bunch here, actually. But I guess I have to start with one, don't I?

1:08.0

What I will start with is what I did not realize, and Gumble had this on the, said this, and I

1:14.4

think the graphic was on the screen. The number was either 14 or 15 of the 16 teams that were in

1:21.7

the top 16 of last year's field of 68. I think it was 15, if I'm wrong, it might have been 14

1:29.2

regardless. It was higher than I was expecting. Those were the, they were the same month over month

1:34.5

from the month prior. You would expect at least eight to 10. That was just a little bit of a higher

1:39.6

number than I expected. I bring that up because as parishes run down all these teams, you know, don't

1:46.1

take too much stock into what the committee released here because there's still a lot that can change.

1:51.7

In particular, I've got serious issues with two of the teams that are even on this, but I promise

1:57.2

myself I would not and will not overreact to a bunch of rankings that essentially don't matter.

2:02.3

But at the same time, high probability that the teams on the one line, the two line, and I think

2:10.4

at least half the teams on the three line, you're going to probably still see in the in geographic

2:15.9

protection top four seed lines when we get to selection Sunday. As we record this podcast,
