Summary

Liverpool supporters, certainly on Merseyside, have a difficult relationship with the England national team for reasons that go beyond the footballing ones. But Reds fans will be enjoying what has been a fantastic Euro 2020 so far and no doubt many will have watched England book their place in the quarter-finals with an historic 2-0 victory over Germany at Wembley on Tuesday. Naturally, excitement is building across the country that, to borrow the lyrics of Scouser and Liverpool fan Ian Broudie from his famous 'Three Lions' song, it could be 'coming home'. But can Gareth Southgate's side actually go on to win the Euros and end their 55-year wait for a major trophy?
