Privilege isn't something that anybody should lose. It is something that everyone should gain.

0:06.6

So when we talk about privilege, we're not saying that an individual has not earned anything that

0:14.0

they possess. What we are saying is that they have had opportunities for achievement without having

0:23.7

to overcome a unique set of obstacles. We're not saying they didn't have any obstacles,

0:30.1

but we are saying that race presents some unique ones. And so this doesn't mean that anyone who is

0:37.0

1:49.5

The point of this conversation is to gain some understanding of an African American gentleman

1:57.3

who's here, a friend of mine, his name is Darius Daniels. My mother actually goes to his church

2:04.0

in West Hampton, New Jersey, where I was born and raised. And I'm looking very forward to

2:10.9

having this conversation. Darius has had some very helpful and educational posts on his social

2:18.5

media lately. And I thought he would be a great gentleman to have on to address this topic. Now,

2:25.0

interestingly enough, I just had a phone call with him the other week before all this went down.

2:29.9

And we weren't even talking about this. We were talking about doing a podcast together and

2:34.2

approaching it from a very different point of view. However, we're pivoting here as, you know,
