Hey, hey, come on in. Happy, come on in. Happy New Year, this is Buckeye Talk, Stephen Me, is Nathan Baird, and Drew Gillis.

This is our first pot of the New Year.

First pod of 2024, first time we're sitting down to do a pot and a lot's happened in this new year.

It's already a jam-packed year in terms of Ohio State perspective on things.

We're going to talk Michigan Washington playing for the National Championship next Monday, which

in six months, those are both going to be big 10 teams so that's interesting from the Ohio State Directive of course the arrival playing in it but also a lot of newsy things have happened Nathan and the Ohio State sphere over the past couple of days since people last heard our voice.

Let's start with the NFL stuff first. Michael Hall Jr. coming out, I think within 24 hours of Ohio State losing that game to Missouri in the Cotton Bowl and saying, yeah, I'm going pro.

Any shocker there that he's the first one off the board?

It was more like within 12 hours, really.

It was, I had just woken up.

I think I had set an alarm for 9.30 that morning

because I had to be, thought I had to be downstairs

for the free breakfast by 10.30,

important, important things that we schedule our lives around.

And I think by 10, I think he had put out his his social media

announcement that he was turning pro no not a shock of all the people who we were

not who we had not received like a definitive answer about.

He was the one that seemed like it might have been the most foregone conclusion that he was,

he had already decided to leave.

And I think there's some life circumstances that play into that for him.
