And, just like that, a new fantasy season has arrived. The FPL site relaunched for 2021/22 on Tuesday of this week, amidst the noise of the European Championship, but it didn't go unnoticed among the fantasy faithful. 0:00.0 | Hey, L-Chaters and welcome to a new fantasy Premier League season. |
0:19.6 | My name is Josh. I'm here with Brandon. Brandon, how are you? FPL back, Josh. And when FPL comes back, so does always cheating. I mean, it's late July. It's late July. I wish it were late July. It's late July. It's late, yeah. So the site just launched. And Josh, you sent me a little winky emoji by a text, and I knew what that meant. |
0:41.9 | That was like the bat signal going up, always cheating, had to get a podcast out to mark the official beginning of us planning for game week one. |
0:51.8 | I think what I technically did actually was you and I had discussed it and I was going to, |
0:56.0 | because you know I'm even more obsessive about the launch than you are. |
0:59.5 | And so I was going to text you when the game launched so that you could get a higher team ID number this year. |
1:06.2 | And I think last year you had a sixit team ID number, which really haunted you. |
1:11.9 | Yeah, I did. |
1:12.4 | I think you were able to shave, you were able to shave a digit off this year, right? |
1:17.2 | Yeah, I'm at 33. |
1:19.5 | Let's see, let me pull up my team ID. |
1:21.9 | And for those who are new to this real wonky business, if you pull up your FPL page, go to Pick Team, go to your, your, your, your, your, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, view game week history and in the URL, you'll see fantasy dot premier league.com slash entry slash there it is your team ID. Yeah. I'm the most complicated process. They should just let you list it right next to your name because increasingly it's become very popular. And the reason where people like to have their team ID is that there are a bunch of sites that have set up. They're like live FPL and FPL Game Week and Premier of Fantasy Tools. See, Brandon, I'm equal opportunity. I named all three right off the, right off the, right off the bed there. They all give you, yeah, real time updates on what your rank, like how it fluctuates by every goal. And so the way that they can calculate that for you is by getting that team ID from you. So, yeah, I'm 3,027 this year, which I feel like is pretty good. I was hoping for inside |
2:19.9 | the top 1K, but I just, I didn't hit the F5, like, best enough. Yeah, I love this. Team ID is the new |
2:26.8 | overall rank, and it's how we're all graded. Like, how good of an FPL manager are you? Well, |
2:31.9 | what's your team ID? But it's true. It's true. I had a six-digit |
2:37.3 | team ID last season and I failed to crack into a five-digit rank. So I think that there's a, |
2:44.8 | it goes hand in hand maybe the OR and the team ID. So I'm at 33-725. If you want to keep tabs, actually go to always cheating.com |
2:53.5 | and click the About tab. And you can find links straight to my team ID and my OR history, |
3:01.3 | Josh's team ID and his OR history. You can follow along this season's journey with the both of us. |
3:08.4 | Yeah, and I think that that's one fun thing to do is to try to see if you can beat your |
3:14.0 | team ID over the course of a season. |
3:15.9 | So I think that 33, whatever you said, 33K is actually a pretty good goal going into a season, |
