Well, I suppose he has many masterworks, but this is one of them, the Confessions.

So let's start first with St Saint Augustine. Father Jacob Bertrand,

Saint Augustine, pro or con. In general?

Uh, pro. Yeah. Great answer. Great answer. Thanks for tuning into this pre-launch episode and we're ready to go.

So St Augustine, as many of you listening will already know, is a doctor of the church, one of these great pillars of Orthodoxy.

He is the author most cited in the Catechism after the sacred scriptures, but one to whom we look often, one to whom we look

with confidence for the clarification of the faith. So Father Jacob

Bertrand, let's start this introduction. Who is St. Augustine? What are some

salient features? Great. Okay, so St. San Augustine he's from toghast in North Africa

which is present-day Algeria he died in 4.30 I guess I should have said he was born first.

Born in 344, died in 430.

And at that time in the church, or in history,

there was a great presence, Catholic

and Christian presence in northern Africa.

So St. Augustine is one of the great Saints

from Northern Africa during that period

of Christian growth and expansion

into the African continent.
