Lai had with Jordan and Bethany Kr Cranfield of Rise and Shine.

Jordan's the executive director of Rise and Shine, an organization that supports

thousands of vulnerable children and adults in South Asia by equipping them with life skills and leadership

training.

Their story of caring for thousands of orphans while raising children of their own here

in Dallas is encouraging, humbling, and empowering.

Welcome to the First of Team Podcast. Jordan Bethany, thanks so much for being in this podcast with us, so excited for our conversation today. Maybe just to kick us off Jordan if you tell us a little bit about

rise and shine and your personal journey in your story to be engaging in this work of

ministering to those that are orphans, minister to those that are orphans,

minister to those that are dealing with felt need issues

other than Southeast Asia.

Sure.

So rise and shine started, we started with rise and shine this year.

We started the organization on January 1, really, 2019,

but our journey was started a long time before that. And so in 2012, I had just stepped out of college and I was asked to be on the board of an organization

that was working in South Asia.

And I really had no interest in world missions really I mean at all in South Asia

But my father had run a homeless shelter and was very successful in the nonprofit world and so I was asked to join this board strictly

based off of experience that I had had with raising funds and what that looked
