All Home Care Matters is excited to welcome Marie Vaudry the founder of Gleam in Your Eye. Gleam in Your Eye is a dementia activity and resource that is helping families with loved ones with dementia stay active and engaged.

In 2021, Marie set out to create a more comprehensive experience that includes logical activities, while also addressing the sensory and physical needs of patients. Surrounded by a passionate team, she founded Gleam in Your Eye and developed an innovative product offering a monthly subscription box filled with fun and stimulating activities.

The boxes are delivered directly to the homes of patients, making life easier for caregivers. Each box includes five different games, designed to engage the senses, provoke logical thinking, invite play with words, stimulate artistic expression and encourage light physical moves.

Gleam in Your Eye is a monthly subscription box of games adapted for people with moderate dementia. Like everyone, these persons deserve a positive environment and interactions in their day-to-day lives. That’s why all the games have been designed to keep them entertained and stimulated.

1:01.5	So, Marie, why we start by telling our listeners and viewers a little bit about where you grew up at and about some of your personal background?
1:17.8	I grew up in Canada, in Montreal, the French part of Canada, and we moved in the U.S. seven years ago. We live in San Diego now. And my mom has Alzheimer at 59 years old, an early onset Alzheimer. And I was looking for activities for her. It was
1:26.7	as many other family to learn this diagnose and to
1:31.6	try to deal with this disease. Then also for the person with Alzheimer, it's hard. Then it's at
1:38.9	this moment, I started to look for some stuff for my mom did um growing up did you when did you
1:48.4	when did you start noticing because 59 is is young and you know early onset can start
1:54.3	very early in people's 40s even i've heard of late 30s um when did you start noticing that maybe something was wrong with mom?
2:04.8	I was living in France and she visited me when she was maybe 56. She was just retired.
2:15.0	And she came to visit me in France and we were doing a tour visiting many cities
2:20.7	and I noticed that she started to have some habits to like to remove all her stuff from
2:28.2	her suitcase and put it like she like if she was at home and it was very it was very important for her to find her her stuff in a way and
2:40.8	when we were visiting she was very lost she was missing her home a lot and she was her environment
