MFA from Yale University. She has been the recipient of several prestigious awards for

Anne has had solo shows at the Portland Art Museum and the Weatherspoon Art Museum in North Carolina,

and she is represented by the Dolby Chadwick Gallery in San Francisco.

I met Anne last summer at the JSS program in Chavita Italy where she was the guest of honor.

And I don't think there are enough superlatives to adequately describe what a great painter and human being and is.

She knows how to ask the right questions to understand where her students are and then she drops

these knowledge bombs that tweak your perspective making it impossible to see your

painting in the same way again. I have to admit I'm a little bit jealous of the students at the University of Washington School of Art where Anne is a full professor.

While in Italy we went on weekly excursions to visit museums throughout the country.

Sometimes that meant a three hour bus ride.

And several times I sat with Anne and we talked about art, life,
