Thank you for joining us for a Tuesday edition of our podcast.

Perhaps you're like me, and you watched round after round after round as Kevin McCarthy endured one vote after another to become Speaker of the House.

I am biased. If you have listened to this podcast for more than 10 seconds, you know that I am a huge fan and friend of Kevin

McCarthy. I think he earned it. God only knows the time he spent away from his family, traveling,

the money he raised, helping other people, many of whom suffered from amnesia afterwards.

But he made it. And he did a really good job with a very narrow majority

until a small group of eight bound together with every Democrat to remove him. In my opinion,

it was a dark hour for the House of Representatives, and I'm not sure the House is fully recovered yet.

Half of the eight are out of politics now. Two more will soon be out of politics. In my judgment,

they did a terrible thing to a very good man for no good reason other than Matt Gates was mad, that Kevin would not stop an ethics

investigation into him.

Many of us watched that, but no one had a better seat than John Ligansky.

He was a young man that you saw on television sitting right beside Kevin McCarthy enduring vote after vote.

And he was the young man that was with Kevin until the bitter end.

He was one of my favorite folks in D.C. a little known fact.
