So, you know um anyway good luck

all of us yeah for well good luck with that and for new listeners that we haven't gone crazy

the last time miranda was down the line she had been swimming in the sea and suffolk and had triggered

many political insights as a result um probably the trauma of the moving that you're doing

today won't have that same impact. But anyway, the budget. So if it's okay with all of you,

I'll just put a broad case, which you can then challenge and then we can come back.

Anyway, so the context of this budget was a general election in which there wasn't a

sort of huge pro-labour mood, but an anti-tory mood was framed around the phrase, nothing works.

And what people meant by that phrase is that to get to a doctor, to get to a hospital, to get a train

was becoming increasingly impossible. You were worried that your kids were in schools that were
