That's when I heard it.

It was this disturbing, nauseating sound,

like a bunch of dry wooden tree branches or sticks all cracking and snapping,

along with a high-pitched rattling, like hundreds of dried sea shells on a string,

and they were all clanging and banging it together.

And at that point, I just decided to open both of my eyes.

And what I saw, slowly staggering creepily towards me, was something that looked a hell of a lot,

like a complete human skeleton with its yellowed bones, shriveled up kind of an apple doll, skin-covered face,

with these empty eye socks, just blankly staring ahead, staggering as it stepped forward,

and it had these crooked yellow teeth and these disgusting, dangling strips of rotting flesh hanging off of its arms and its legs

and we just went running out of there like crazy
