Today marks one year since Russia first invaded Ukraine, and the war has taken a devastating toll on the region, with hundreds of thousands of soldiers dead and millions of Ukrainians displaced from their homes. The US has provided nearly 50 billion dollars in military aid, and recently, in a surprise visit to the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv, President Biden pledged an additional 500 million dollars and America’s continued support for the Ukrainian defense efforts. Prior to the invasion, Dan Bilak was a family man and a lawyer living in Kyiv, but that all changed when Russia attacked, and he made the decision to join the Territorial Defense Forces of Ukraine. Bilak joins the Rundown to break down the horrifying realities of war in Ukraine and how they plan to use US military aid to defeat Russia. The Biden administration proposed a new rule this week that aims to deter the number of illegal crossings at the border. The policy would deny asylum to migrants who attempt to claim it at the southern border and instead force them to apply prior to their arrival. This week, the House Judiciary Committee held a hearing on the border crisis in Yuma, Arizona.
