And today, we are here to make an announcement and deliver on a promise.

So for those of you who who listened to the first of our episodes on Oscar Wilde, which is regrettably more than 2,000 of you, you may remember an anecdote we told about Oscar meeting the American poet Walt Whitman.

And it was, by all accounts, a great and very gay time.

You can go and listen to that episode to hear more about it and what we think

could have or could not have gone down in that room.

But something less wonderful that came out of that encounter was the drinking of a certain

beverage.

On that fateful day, Walt Whitman offered Oscar Wilde a drink and Oscar happily accepted

and then discovered that the drink was something called Milk Punch, which is whiskey mixed with milk. And Oscar Wilde a drink and Oscar happily accepted and then discovered that the drink was

something called Milk Punch which is whiskey mixed with milk and Oscar Wilde did not like it very

much. He drank it as quickly as possible to get the experience over with and in that episode I said

if that episode got to 2000 downloads we would drink it and now we're here so you're welcome

friend. I wasn't even in that episode.

This is true. You chose to be.

But you've drunk this beverage of your own accord, like by your own volition in your life.

That is slander.

By which I mean, it is true.
