Summary
In this well written short story, a single and destitute mother of three dies in a small village, leaving behind a 12 year old boy, a daughter of about 10, and a young child who had been paralyzed from a fall when she was two. The villagers meet at the funeral and offer to take the two older children but leave the youngest to her own fate,
