The Welcome to Faith is. I'm Pastor Rick Stevens, and this is the place where faith is absolute confidence in the trustworthiness of God.

Now, I know you've heard me say that so many times that I'm going to keep saying it.

But you know, it really helps me when I come up against things that I say, why did this

have to happen or why did that have to happen? All those frustrations of life. And it helps me

to remind myself that I can have absolute confidence in the trustworthiness of God. Sometimes people aren't as trustworthy as we

would like them to be. Can we say that? Can we be more blunt and say sometimes they betray our

confidence in them? And we end up picking up the pieces or other people do and yet i remember that faith is

absolute confidence in the trustworthiness of god and god can take any of those situations

any of those circumstances any of those disappointments any of those disappointments, any of those betrayals, and he can redeem them

for his good purposes. So I want to remember, and I want to remind us to keep the faith,

to keep having absolute confidence in the trustworthiness of God. It's a concept, can I say, that for me, requires continual reminding.

So you can remind me, I'll remind you, that faith is absolute confidence in the trustworthiness of God, and we can trust

God. He will accomplish his purpose. He will get us through all of the things that we need to get

through, and we can trust him. Well, I am Pastor Rick Stevens. I'm the pastor of a real church in

Cape Coral, Florida, diplomat Wesleyan Church.

We have our ups and downs like everybody else. We're not a perfect place. No church is perfect, but we do our best to stay faithful to the Bible and faithful to God.

And we'll talk a little bit about church today as we get into the subject of Pentecost.

We're going to talk about that a little bit and hopefully, how should I say, help us think about it maybe differently than we usually do,

and also remind us that we don't need to be afraid of some of the things that people associate

with Pentecost, the event, the idea, or anything else. So we'll get to that in a little

bit and unpack some of that. We also want to talk about Jerusalem a little bit more. I think
