At the end of last year, the vaccine rollout in the United States wasn't looking so great.

Supply was tight, scheduling employment was difficult for many.

There were fewer than 3 million doses administered in the entire country by the end of December,

and that was over a couple of weeks.

I remember when it came to getting my own parents vaccinated, it was quite a mission.

Yeah, I don't remember any time waiting that much for anything either.

I had everything lined up to just get ready in 5 minutes.

So that's what we did.

We left about 1.15, we left, and we were here at 1.30.

That's 1.30 in the morning.

My mom and dad ended up camping out in lawn chairs for 9 hours to get their first shots.

It was like waiting in line to get a ticket to the rolling stones.

Whenever I make up my mind, I want to get that thing done.

Fast forward to today, and things are really different.

The United States has hit its stride, vaccinating on average, more than 3 million people every day.

Even with the news last week that the use of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine has

paused here in the United States, the pace of vaccinations is not expected to change or to slow down.

The White House said last week that there is enough supply of the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines

to continue vaccinating roughly 3 million people a day.

So how did we do it?

How did we really increase supply, streamline appointment scheduling, and get so many more

vaccines into arms so quickly?
