When most people think of the Old Testament tabernacle, they picture an ancient tent,

distant and unfamiliar, something that feels far removed from everyday life.

But what if that sacred structure was actually designed by God to point us

directly to everything we have in Jesus Christ? In this study, fully furnished, finding all you need in Christ,

For the last several days, we have been looking at the golden candle stand. And if you'll permit me, just

to light the way to the next piece of furniture, I want to read to you the closing verses of

Exodus chapter number 27. God said, and thou shalt command the children of Israel that they bring the

pure oil olive beaten for the light to cause the lamp to burn always.

The tabernacle of the congregation without the veil, which is before the testimony,

Aaron and his sons shall order it from evening to morning before the Lord.

It should be a statute forever under their generations on the behalf of the children of Israel.

This is so good.

But verse 20 says, that light burned always. Verse 21 tells us that it burned from evening to morning. In other words,

at the darkest hour and throughout all the generations, the light continued to burn. And I just

want to pause before we go any further in our study and say, praise God, that the Lord Jesus Christ

and His light, the glorious light of the gospel and the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives
