0:00.0	John the Baptist is one of the great characters of the Bible. His purpose was simple,
0:12.5	to prepare the way for the coming of the Messiah, Jesus Christ. Jesus himself said of John
0:19.1	that he was the greatest of those born of women.
0:22.5	This greatness was not in himself, not his personality, not talent,
0:27.5	but his greatness was in his task, introducing people to Jesus.

1:07.4	Testament. And in it are some principles, foundational principles, first principles
1:12.5	that have their application in every generation. Now we've looked at one of them. It was good news.
1:18.9	It was an announcement. And the announcement was, the kingdom of heaven is at hand. But you see,
1:25.4	the same message that brings good news also brings some bad news.
1:31.5	The same rule and reign that brings joy also brings fear. It really all depends on your
1:38.2	relationship to the king. You see, while some people rejoice that the kingdom of heaven was at hand
1:43.9	because they
1:45.1	were looking for Messiah and they were yielding to Messiah, there were some that wanted
1:50.0	nothing to do with it.
