Summary

Despite another big game from Austin Reaves, the extremely shorthanded Lakers fell to the Blazers on Monday on the 2nd night of a back to back. Pete and Darius discuss the game, their frustrations with the team's injuries and player availability, Austin Reaves' continued great play and production vs. the physical Portland defense, and their impressions of the team's end-of-bench players who are getting more run with so many Lakers out injured.

What do you think about the Laker team now?

0:03.0

You follow the box scores of the games every day?

0:06.0

Just the Lakers.

0:07.0

You're kidding.

0:08.0

That is really a compliment.

0:10.0

I was pleased to see you smile at the top part show because once the game starts, you have a game face.

0:17.0

You don't smile much out there.

0:20.0

Dee, I think you calculated it out to $130 million worth of payroll sitting on the

relatively well and hard and tactically made adjustments. Like I thought it was a well-played,

0:50.3

well-coached game relative to the available talent. Austin was incredible once again,

0:55.8

a high turnover second half, but sort of a function of not having a single other ball handler

1:00.9

healthy for that game, Dee. And, you know, I know that they're sitting Luca, quote, unquote,

1:05.4

out of an abundance of caution, but that seems to be the approach for a lot of guys these

1:10.5

days, especially early on

1:12.0

in the season. I do not know how this squares with championship shape and championship habits.

1:17.7

I don't think the team was physically ready for this season to start, and we're seeing that

1:21.4

by half the team being on the injury report by game four. So I just wanted to bitch and moan about that for a moment,
