I went into that first league meeting and I was the only woman there.

And I really didn't care.

I didn't spend a moment concerning myself with what other people thought about my gender.

It never made sense to me during my years in the league.

It still doesn't make sense to me that I should walk into any situation, any meeting,

anything, expecting and hoping that others won't focus on my gender.

If I'm focused on my gender.

If I don't want you thinking about my gender, why am I thinking about my gender?

And by the way, if you want to be thinking about my gender, go ahead and waste your time

because I'm not going to be wasting my time thinking about it.
