Hello and welcome to this week's holiday special of Who Killed, Amy Mahalovic. I decided I was going to

select a few episodes from the many years that I have covered this case because it is the

Thanksgiving holiday and we like to take it easy a little bit when the holidays roll around.

but for the people who don't know this case or the people who want to relisten to this episode,

this is episode one of the deep dive that I took into the disappearance and murder of 10-year-old Amy Mahalovic from Bay Village, Ohio in 1989.

This was a case, again, that is very close to my heart because I grew up not far from

where she was abducted and was the same age as Amy when she was taken.

So, as we know, there has not been much as far as new information goes in regards to the

Amy Mahalovic case.

We do know that there has been some DNA that they found on a curtain and a blanket that was matched to Amy's dog and that

eventually was matched to Amy.

So we know that their evidence that they released in 2016 did provide new information.

Unfortunately, the information that it provided did not lead to any solutions.

Well, fast forward eight years, my podcast, Dateline, the Lake Erie murders, have all focused on this case,

and we still don't have any answers.

I still hold out hope that there will one day be a solution or a resolution to this case,

but as it gets longer in the tooth, it becomes a little bit harder to believe.

But I still believe, and that is what matters,

because we all want to see justice for the Mahalovic family and the city of Bay Village.
