very real, tender presence in your life. Well, I normally write my own intro monologue, but my guest

today says it so well that I'm just going to read her words. She says this, from hurting bodies and

souls to hurting relationships and communities, it's clear that things are not as they should be.

Some of us live

with varying degrees of physical pain, and others of us harbor the emotional pain of loneliness,

shame, guilt. Looking at our culture more broadly, we see the harm of our social divisions and

the unyielding reality and impact of injustice and inequity. The gospel's brim with stories of

Jesus healing people, but what does that mean for us today?

Great words from my guest, Amy Julia Becker. We're going to talk about what it means to be made well.

What does it mean to be made well? Is this something that is possible in the land of the living?

Or is it something we have to wait for until Jesus returns? Personally, I believe we can see the

goodness of the Lord in the land of the living, but I also believe what Scripture says that there's

a part of our inheritance. We're not going to fully possess until Jesus returns. But that said,

even though there are no easy answers, is it possible that maybe we've settled for far less

than what Jesus won for us?
